Bandpass and Low-Pass Filters

Bandpass and low-pass filters are inserted between the output of a broadcast transmitter and the antenna to suppress unwanted transmissions.

SPINNER DTV and 5G Broadcast Filter

Bandpass and low-pass filters are installed between the output of a broadcast transmitter and the antenna to suppress spurious emissions. For “combined” analog transmitters, these filters help reduce harmonics in the vision and sound carrier signals.

In digital TV (DTV) transmitters, filters are essential for limiting out-of-channel emissions in compliance with various mask specifications (e.g., ATSC, DAB, DVB-T, and ISDB-T):

The filters are characterised by extremely low passband attenuation, high stopband attenuation and exceptionally steep slopes. The benefit is clear: available bandwidth is maximised and existing investment is utilized to its fullest potential.
