Patch Panels
Patch panels are used, for example, to route transmitter signals either to the antenna or to a test load.
Switching is carried out either by motor-driven switches or manually using U-links. All patch panels are equipped with a safety interlock system that reliably shuts down the transmitter during the switching process.
The panels are available either as standalone front plates or integrated into a rack system. The front-side ports allow measurements within the system to be performed using precision measurement adapters. Depending on the power level, the rear-side connectors comply with DIN or EIA standards; alternatively, flange-mount versions can also be supplied.
Provided that no frequency-defining components are integrated, our patch panels can be operated across the entire broadcast frequency range. By incorporating additional components from our product portfolio—such as power dividers, 3 dB couplers, or directional couplers—the functionality can be precisely tailored to the specific application.
Motorized Parallel Switching Units
Parallel switching units are used for power doubling as well as for redundancy in the event of transmitter failure. In the case of a fault, switching is performed automatically, typically via the transmitter control system, using plug-on motorized switches. If a motorized switch fails, it can be replaced by the supplied U-links.
SPINNER supplies parallel switching units for FM, VHF, and UHF applications in various power classes for both analog and digital transmission systems.
