SPINNER MNCS^® – Gardens by the Bay in Singapur

In Singapore, SPINNER has now been successfully equipping buildings with diff erent forms of mobile telephony with its established partners for a long time. With the proven SPINNER MNCS^® – Mobile Network Combing System, all networks of the local network operators are brought together and distributed in the entire building via Distributed Antenna System (DAS).

The fact that the local regulatory authority in Singapore basically requires a 100% network coverage in buildings is somewhat exceptional. In addition to classic telephony and SMS via GSM, modern high speed data services must also be transferred via UMTS, LTE and WiFi on diff erent frequencies. The networks are confi gured both for the safety of their users as well as for the intensive use of all kinds of the latest generation of devices. Minimising downtimes takes centre stage. It goes without saying that the buildings are equipped with shared systems for all network operators due to cost and space reasons.

In June this year an exceptional prestige project opened which was equipped with SPINNER MNCS^®. Rather than the usual skyscrapers and offi ce towers, this project involved supplying mobile communications to parts of a gigantic park project (10 ha) in the boomtown of Singapore: GARDENS BY THE BAY. In the context of the urban development plan, a recreational space has been created right on the seafront for the busy local population and for visitors of the city. In addition to a varied and wide range of external areas, the project also includes a large number of giant buildings: giant trees which are open to exploration, two air conditioned conservatories and six restaurant areas.

The centrepiece on the part of SPINNER for supplying the interior space were three combiners with the following confi guration: 1x iDEN (CDMA850), 3x GSM/GSM-E 900, 3x GSM1800 and 3x UMTS. The solution was constructed for all four local network operators. The signals of all the system technology manufactures currently in the market were interconnected fault-free and with minimal attenuation. The MNCS^® plug-ins were installed in
customer racks.
