The x.40 type builds the bridge in the intermediate range of SPINNER’s fiber optic rotary joint portfolio. With an outer diameter of 40 mm, it lies between the small x.25 (Ø 25 mm) and the largest representative x.60 (Ø 60 mm). The x.40 can be equipped with up to eight independent channels. As for all SPINNER FORJs, the proprietary active alignment procedure provides superior optical performance in a compact case.

The strong in-house production depth of mechanical parts ensures efficient quality management complementing repeated optical tests during the assembly of a FORJ. This guarantees reliability and ideal performance.

The x.40 can be equipped with both single-mode and multimode channels. Also, a mixture of both is possible. In any case, each channel is optimized independently, resulting in lowest attenuation and preventing cross talk between the channels. The x.40 FORJ stands out with rotational speeds of up to 1,000 rpm in its standard version, and up to 3,600 rpm in the 8 channel high-speed version.

Premium versions with extremely low insertion loss (IL) and IL WOW values available.

FORJ 8.40 HS (High Speed)

The 8-channel fiber optic rotary joint 8.40HS FORJ expands SPINNER’s proven High-Speed Series and is based on the successful single-channel (1.14HS) and dual-channel (2.28HS) designs.

With rotational speeds up to 3,600 rpm (equivalent to 60 fps), the 8.40HS is ideally suited for high-speed applications requiring maximum precision and reliable signal transmission.
The IP40 protection rating provides sufficient protection for typical operating conditions in this speed range.

Thanks to SPINNER technology, this rotary joint achieves world-leading insertion loss values and delivers consistent optical performance throughout its lifetime. Various drive and coupling technologies can also be integrated to ensure perfect adaptation to customer-specific requirements.

Ideal for multi-channel applications. These rotary joints cover the full range from seven up to 109 channels.
