To reduce fire hazards, with effect as of mid-2017 the EU’s Construction Products Regulation (CPR) was extended to communications cables. Now only CPR-compliant, fire-resistant cables may be installed in new building .
The regulation currently only applies to unterminated cables that are provided with connectors at the construction site. SPINNER, however, has already gone a step further by starting to supply not only CPR-certified coaxial cables, but also suitable jumpers for them. It is our conviction that this is vital for improving the safety of people who use buildings.

There is a steadily increasing need for high-quality data transmission in rotating applications in the wind power industry. Older technologies are gradually reaching their limits. As a result, wind turbines frequently grind to a halt and stop generating power. There are many reasons for this, but one of the most common is faulty data transmission for turbines’ pitch control, which until now has relied on conventional slip rings. SPINNER has developed a solution to the problem. The new contactless rotary joints replace part of the slip ring, which then no longer rely on direct physical contact and therefore ensure fault-free transmission of Ethernet data in real time at a rate of 100 Mbit/s.
With the aims of reducing emissions of smoke and toxic gases, delaying their spread and extending the available time for leaving burning buildings, in 2013 the European Union issued the Construction Products Regulation (CPR), to establish harmonized rules for the marketing and use of construction products.
When seals need to meet extreme demands due to harsh environmental conditions, or simply to play it safe by relying on a highly effective product, SPINNER CAF® Plast2000 is first choice. SPINNER CAF® Plast2000 connectors have a threaded opening through which the Plast2000 sealing compound is injected into the cable clamp. The compound enters and fills even the tiniest cavities to completely seal the connector.
The Elbphilharmonie concert hall is acoustically and mechanically isolated from the rest of the building, and its exteriors are designed to block all radio signals. But because the structure also integrates apartments, a hotel and a public area, the only way to enable mobile communications inside was to install an in-building solution. There are several thousands of visitors a day, who send countless photographs and videos and generate huge data volumes that have to be managed somehow. This called for a first-class solution, so those in charge naturally opted for the SPINNER Mobile Network Combining System – MNCS©.
The SPINNER type 1.14L is a robust, easy-to-use rotary joint for single-mode and multimode fibers. Its main advantage over conventional rotary joints is an L-shaped (90°) fiber exit on the stator, which makes it highly space-saving. This globally unique design is ideal for use in camera systems, e.g. in drones, in conjunction with small, compact slip rings.
SPINNER has revolutionized the final testing process for mobile communication components with its EasyDock testing adaptors. Major manufacturers are using them with great success, reaping benefits in the form of substantial time and cost savings.
Many small to large In-Building projects can be very quickly and easily implemented with a SPINNER multiband combining system. These prefabricated standard systems are available in different versions with a variety of input and output combinations. All that’s left to be done is connect them between base stations and antennas. These SPINNER systems let you save on installation while minimizing technical risks and subsequent costs.
As the number of wind turbines in use grows, two things are becoming more and more important to their manufacturers and owners: highly efficient power generation and very cost-effective operation, also at greater outputs. On the one hand, it is essential to ensure highly reliable high-speed data transfer between the rotor blades and the control electronics in the nacelle so the system can responsible nimbly to changing environmental conditions. On the other, operators insist on capturing very detailed data for monitoring and controlling the overall installation. SPINNER offers two reliable solutions for data transmission in rotating systems: contactless electronic and fiber-optic joints.
The new website of the SPINNER Group has just gone live. It features a new design that is clearer, more contemporary, and user-friendlier. The website has also been optimized for use across all devices: smartphones, tablets, and desktop computers. Content now automatically adapts to the user’s screen resolution, so that everything can be viewed on any device without any loss of functionality or quality. SPINNER is thus responding to the accelerating trend toward mobile Internet use.
