We mourn for Stephanie Spinner-König

Stephanie Spinner-König, most recently our supervisory board chair and for many years our managing director, passed away on May 18, 2024 at the age of 74. We are deeply saddened to take leave of an exceptional woman whose life and accomplishments will live on in our hearts.

Stephanie Spinner-König took the reins of SPINNER GmbH as a managing partner in 1990. And it was on her watch that SPINNER evolved into a globally active company. Among many other things, around the turn of the millennium she established multiple new production facilities in Germany and abroad as well as numerous sales offices in strategically important countries.

In 2018, Ms. Spinner-König withdrew from active management to chair the supervisory board. Her activities in that role benefited the company and the state of Bavaria both economically and socially. Without neglecting her corporate responsibilities, she supported the Bavarian economy by serving on the boards of directors of the Bavarian chapter of ZVEI e.V. (the German association of the electro and digital industries) and vbw (the Association of the Bavarian Economy), in addition to chairing the supervisory board of the Academy of the Bavarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IHK) and heading its foreign trade committee.

In 2004 Ms. Spinner-König was honored with the “State Medal for Special Contributions to the Bavarian Economy”. Social and cultural work was also close to her heart. She belonged to the Friends of the Munich University of Applied Sciences and was a member of the board of trustees of the Lichtblick Hasenbergl Foundation, which is devoted to enabling children, adolescents, and families to lead independent and self-determined lives. Her love of art and culture was also apparent in her wholehearted support for the Maxlrain Opera.

Stephanie Spinner-König was an exceptional individual who helped to lastingly shape the company of SPINNER. As a committed and open-hearted corporate leader, she was always approachable and sincerely cared about her employees’ wellbeing. We will always fondly recall her and her work and are sincerely grateful for her tireless dedication.
