As new mobile applications debut, there is a steadily increasing need for greater bandwidth and faster transmission. The Internet of Things (IoT) poses enormous requirements in terms of capacity, data rates and latency times, and this is only the beginning. More mobile communication frequencies are essential. 5G is laying the foundation for this growth, and the new frequency range extending up to 3800 Mhz is the first milestone.
Full-band designs for V-, E-and W-Band rotary joints—covering the frequency ranges from 50 to 75 GHz, 60 to 90 GHz and 75 to 110 GHz, respectively—have been added to SPINNER’s rotary joint portfolio, which initially covered narrowband W-Band. For high-end testing applications requiring very low insertion loss, high stability and good VSWR, flexible dielectric waveguides for the E-band and W-band are available for supplementing the rotary joints. This reduces weight and results in extreme flexibility, very low transmission loss and high stability, offering a high-performance alternative to a traditional flexible waveguide section or test cable.
In November 2017, SPINNER performed and passed re-audits for ISO 9001 (quality) and 14001 (environment) and a monitoring audit for ISO 50001 (energy).
For the first time, both management systems were audited based on the 2015 revisions of ISO 9001 and 14001, which introduced a much greater process orientation and focus on risk management.
The audits took place at the company’s facilities in Munich and Westerham, Germany and Szekszárd, Hungary. The renewed certificates, which are valid for three years, provide our customers and business partners with yet another guarantee of the high quality of SPINNER products and services.
When the 4.3-10 connector system was first introduced in 2013, it was not obvious that it would be such a resounding success. In retrospect, today we can say that during the roughly four years since its launch, 4.3-10 has conquered a remarkable share of the market (in terms of quarterly sales) and is well on its way to becoming the most-supplied connector system in the mobile communication market by the end of this year. Here you can learn a few facts about its origins and road to success.
SPINNER has just launched a new generation of loads with greater energy efficiency and optimized designs. Applying what we have learned from experience, we have expanded the portfolio by adding a new 50 kW SPINNER SmartLoad version.
The 50 kW load, like all SPINNER SmartLoads, features an intelligent controller that only switches on the pump and fan when these are actually needed, remaining in standby mode the rest of time. The full nominal power can be immediately absorbed from standby mode. Simple RF reflections won’t automatically start the cooling circuit. All of this ensures greater energy efficiency with significant power savings compared to continuously running loads.
